A+M: The Story of Aimee and Marcus' Bespoke Wedding Stationery & Signage

I'm absolutely thrilled to share a story that's dear to my heart – the journey of creating bespoke wedding stationery for my wonderful friends, Aimee and Marcus. This unique experience marked my entry into the world of weddings, shaping my perspective and setting the stage for future collaborations with some of the best vendors in the industry.

When Aimee and Marcus began their journey together, they didn't just want a wedding; they envisioned an entire experience that would be a true reflection of their remarkable story. They were dreamers in love, shared a deep appreciation for the finer details in life and had a profound respect for the space where art and human emotions converge. Their approach to the wedding was nothing short of adventurous, with a strong desire for every element to be uniquely 'them.'

Aimee and Marcus decided to weave a bold and sophisticated cobalt blue thread throughout their wedding, a choice that I artfully incorporated into every piece of stationery. We explored various techniques, from elegant blue foil press to the use of exquisite blue acrylic. The result was nothing less than breathtaking. This shade of blue held profound significance, symbolising their incredible journey – from a serendipitous meet-cute to their shared experiences in Melbourne, where their love story deepened. It was a beautiful ode to the nostalgia that blossomed there, set against the stunning backdrops of both Chapel 1885 and Half Acre.

One of my absolute favourite elements of Aimee and Marcus' stationery was the bespoke black ink illustration. It portrayed two timeless wine glasses coming together, crowned by a bold pair of lips. This illustration was more than just visually striking; it was a true reflection of Aimee's impeccable sense of fashion and her unique way with words – the very qualities that likely brought this incredible couple together. This illustration was not confined to mere stationery; it left a lasting impression on their guests, adorning the open folds of their save-the-date envelopes and setting the stage for the wedding that awaited. I designed it as a recurring motif, seamlessly integrated across all their stationery, website, and signage, ensuring a cohesive and artistic theme. This illustration wasn't just a piece of wedding stationery; it was a work of art. It encapsulated the essence of Aimee and Marcus' love story – modern, artistic, classic, and timeless. It transcended age and trends, serving as a beautiful symbol of their unique journey. It was more than just a keepsake; it was a piece of their story, something they could proudly frame and display on their wall, a constant reminder of the incredible journey they had embarked on together.

Their website went beyond the practicalities of collecting RSVPs and presenting wedding details. It served as a canvas to showcase their unique love story in Melbourne, adorned with an extensive list of recommendations on where to "Eat, drink, and be…uh…married?" It featured delightful sections like "Great Spots to Stay" and so much more. Most notably, it provided Aimee with a platform to weave her trademark kick-ass copy, a talent we all admire and adore her for.

This remarkable experience with Aimee and Marcus laid the very foundation for the bespoke wedding stationery I create today. It goes beyond paper and ink; it's about crafting stories, capturing love, and creating tangible memories that last a lifetime.

Aimee and Marcus, the trailblazers of my wedding stationery journey. Their love story will forever hold a special place in my heart, and I'm eternally grateful for the trust they placed in me and the invaluable lessons this journey has taught me.

“We worked with Sarah from Tamborine Press for all our wedding stationery, from save the dates to on the day signage and thank you cards and I have never felt more inclined to wholeheartedly endorse someone in my entire life. I’d describe her less as our stationery designer and more as the brand manager of our wedding.

We decided not to have any floral elements for any part of the day and so the stationery and signage needed to be bang on. We came to her with quite a specific vision for the day and she turned that vision into something so incredible that it would’ve been impossible for us to have imagined it, all whilst navigating 18 months texts from us that said insufferable things like: “I’m feeling inspired by a Country Road gift voucher I’ve just seen at Coles” or “Feeling like it needs to be less wedding, more Met Gala”.

She listened to us, was intimidatingly creative, never missed a deadline and worked seamlessly with our styling team to ensure things like where the signage clips needed to be positioned were considered. A big, very grateful, 20/10 recommendation from us!”
